Amanda López Askin currently serves as the county clerk for Doña Ana County, leading an office that services a diverse area, including a vibrant border community. Born and raised in Las Cruces, NM, she was appointed clerk in 2018 and was elected for a four-year term in November of 2020. Amanda lives in Las Cruces with her husband and eight -year old daughter. She is a proud alumnus of New Mexico State University, where she’s earned three degrees, including a Ph.D. focused on leadership and administration.

Caroline, a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, is an accomplished professional with a strong commitment to her community. She holds degrees in Psychology and Communication from New Mexico State University. In November 2022, Caroline was appointed Chief Deputy County Clerk, where she continues to make a meaningful impact in local government. Her dedication to civic engagement is evident through her active involvement in various volunteer and leadership roles, including serving as Past Chair of the Ambassadors for the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, as a Chamber Ambassador for the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Amigos, and as a board member for the Doña Ana County Humane Society and Amador Health Center. Caroline’s passion for community service is reflected in her continued efforts to foster growth and positive change in her hometown.
